Project aims to put in practice my master thesis research, an aquaponic farming system, on a micro-scale.
The idea is to install an aquaponic system in the house to grow fish and edible plants that can be used to supply a small amount of veggies and herbs (Basil, Lettuce, Coriander, ...) produced inside of an apartment.
Further more, another the fun part comes in the automation of the aquaponic process with the help of a lots of sensors and actuators that allows me to remotely control and monitor in real-time the system.
The control system at this very moment consist of pool of sensors that measure important variables where the plants are growing, in the fish tank as well outside of those area which will allow me to have a better sense and keep an eye on the organisms in the system (Fish, Plant & Bacteria) and take action on certain events.
THIS PROJECT WILL BE THE BEGINNING AND BASED OF A FUTURE OPEN-SOURCE IDEA.
